Anne Jennings MSGD MBALI MCIHortt trained in horticulture and garden design from 1989, following a 15-year banking career.
She was Consultant Horticultural Advisor to the Garden Museum in London for almost 20 years where she played a key role in the organisation's continuing development, standing in as Acting CEO for a 6-month period in 2007. Anne represented the Museum by working in partnership with other major organisations including the RHS, English Heritage, the National Trust, the National Gardens Scheme and the Garden History Society.
Anne is the author of seven gardening books; Knot Gardens and Parterres published by Barn Elms and a series of 6 chronological garden history books published by English Heritage. She regularly writes for gardening magazines and newspapers and has appeared on television and radio programmes, including BBC's How Britain Got The Gardening Bug, Alan Titchmarsh's Garden Secrets (19th Century) and Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
Anne has a great deal of experience working on both domestic and commercial projects, and, as well as having a keen interest in construction and working with new techniques and materials, is increasingly fascinated by the potential of using plants as effective alternatives to hard landscaping solutions. Her design portfolio includes Trinity Church Square in Southwark, Northwick House Mansion Apartments in Maida Vale and The Worshipful Company of Goldsmith's Garden in the City of London.
Anne is a Registered Member of the SGD (Society of Garden Designers) and of BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) and of the Institute of Horticulture.
